Robert ‘Bob’ Bray

We were very saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Robert ‘Bob’ Bray, our very dear friend and long term member of our support group. Bob was such an important person to so many people and his impact on the lives of others was significant and continues to affect, influence and inspire.

Bob set about to learn as much as he possibly could about his condition and to that end no stone was left unturned, however Bob never lost sight of what was important to him and his family and that was to live life. Bob’s philosophy was no matter what life throws at you, its best to just get on with it… and Bob did just that… he packed in so much and enjoyed life to the full and that joy was shared with family and his many many friends.

Bob was a very special and important member of our group and will always be remembered, for his humour and infectious sense of fun, his generosity of his time, sharing of his knowledge, lived experience and his humanity. I will leave you all with some lovely photos of Bob on his many trips abroad with Denise. Bob was a true inspiration to us all in how he faced up to adversity and lived life to the full in-spite of whatever challenges life presented.

Bob we will miss you very much and may you rest in peace.

As you will no doubt be aware Bob was, among other things, a very keen and enthusiastic cyclist and in particular cycling off road or as Bob would call it on the “rough stuff”. In honour of this, Denise has instigated the “Rough Stuff” annual aware given to their local cycling club. The award is presented to the club member who has amassed the greatest off road achievement throughout the year. The inaugural award was presented this year (2024) by Ian, Bob’s and Denise’s Son, photographed below.
